The MHS Theatre Society is proud to provide opportunities for students to assume leadership roles in all aspects of the program.
Leadership roles range in scope and commitment level so that there are opportunities for lots of different members to get involved.
Department Heads are selected based on hands-on experience and demonstrated commitment to the program. If you are interested in learning more about a Department Head position, talk to Ms. McCoy or a current student leader.
Formal application processes exist for the four Officer positions and six Stage Manager positions available each year. To learn more, see details below.

Stage Management Selection
Stage Management is a two-year commitment. Selected students begin as Assistant Stage Managers (or ASM's) for a specific show. ASM's job shadow and assist the Stage Manager and then assume the Stage Manager position for that same show the following year.
We periodically hold interest meetings so that members can learn more about what the role entails from the current Stage Managers. If you think you might be interested, attend a meeting and/or speak to a current Stage Manager. If you decide you want to apply, please fill out the form below and submit it to Ms. McCoy via email.
Selections are made when positions become available.
2020 Fall Show Stage Manager: Molly Goonan
2020 Fall Show ASM: Caroline Harrington
2021 Musical Stage Manager: Katie Manning
2021 Musical ASM: TBD
2021 MAD Stage Manager: Olivia Price
2021 MAD ASM: Zoe Lewis
Each spring, members of the junior class are invited to learn more about the four officers roles within the Society (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer). Following that meeting, eligible and interested candidates are invited to apply.
- Must be a rising senior
- Must be a current MHS Theatre Society Member
- Must have received credit for at least 3 mainstage shows
("mainstage" meaning Fall Play and Musical, though
candidates can certainly also have done MAD)
There are three equal components to the selection process:
2) Adult Panel
3) Democratic Input
Eligible students submit an application, which is then reviewed by a panel consisting of the Director, Technical Director and other Society personnel. Theatre members are also invited to submit up to three names of students they feel would make strong officers. Applicants are able to indicate their order of preference for the four positions, but those selected are not guaranteed their first choice.
Applications are submitted in late March with selections announced by the end of April.
