MHS Theatre Society Presents
The INTO THE WOODS
Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim
Originally Directed on Broadway by James Lapine
Orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick
March. 13-15, 2020
A red cape, a strand of yellow hair, a golden slipper, and a milk-white cow. These are the unlikely treasures sought by a simple baker and his wife.
Desperate to reverse a curse set upon their household, the couple journeys Into the Woods with the deceptively simple wish to have a child of their own.
Join beloved fairy tale favorites such as Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Little Red Riding Hood as they, too, travel Into the Woods in search of their hearts’ desires.
How far will they go to achieve their goals?
Will they find what they seek?
And what will happen when you find yourself lost in the woods?
Find out by joining us March 13th-15th at Medfield High School.
It is worth noting that the running time for this particular show is more than two hours. For those of our patrons with young children, we recommend that you consider attending the first act only. Spoilers aside, the first act is a self-contained storyline that can stand on its own, while the second act adds both length and more mature themes to the mix.
