We were thrilled to have so many students audition for our spring musical. We were especially delighted to see 15 students trying out for their very first MHS production. We are excited for ALL of you to JOIN US in our journey towards March’s performances.
With that being said, we know that many of you may end up feeling disappointed if you do not receive the exact role you were hoping to get. Based on all of your talents and abilities, we honestly could have cast this show in lots of different ways. We want to emphasize that not being cast in your dream role does not mean that you do not possess the talent or ability necessary to play that role.
It may mean that you are less experienced than another actor. It may mean that you have more conflicts than another actor. It may also mean that you just weren’t right for that specific part within the context of this specific cast.
We also want to make sure that everyone knows that we will be doing everything we can to showcase each and every one of you. You may notice from the cast list that you may not be familiar with who exactly your character is. The beauty of Pippin is that there will be plenty of specific characters and personalities that we can highlight above and beyond the scripted roles.
We also encourage everyone to reach out to us directly to ask about your audition. Notes are how we improve throughout the rehearsal process. Similarly, notes on your audition can help you improve your audition skills.
